UC LEADS - Program Benefits
The Graduate Division and faculty mentors hope to ensure the best possible research experience for UC LEADS Scholars. As such, there is an outline of the UC LEADS program benefits:
Throughout the UC LEADS experience, the Graduate Division will provide to the Scholar:
- Professional development opportunities
- Assistance with the graduate school and fellowship application processes
- Additional research activities for second summer research experience
- Assistance with academic and research difficulties
- Academic and career planning
- Scientific writing and presentation training
- Research skills training
- GRE test preparation
- Socialize scholar in chosen field of interest
- Assistance in quarterly evaluating the progress of the Action Plan
Throughout the UC LEADS experience, the Faculty Mentor will provide to the Scholar:
- Guidance on a research project
- Assistance in the creation of the Action Plan
- Assistance in the selection of the UC campus for second summer research
- Bi-monthly meetings
- Identification of graduate programs and graduate fellowships
- Assistance in the graduate school application process
- Professional connections within the field of interest
- Assistance with academic and research difficulties
- Socialization of the scholar in chosen field of study
- Assistance with the quarterly evaluation of the progress of Action Plan
